Terms & Conditions for Home Edition – Home Coaching (upd Jan'26)

1. Fees and Payment i. Lessons with appointed teacher are confirmed upon receiving fee payment, which are paid in advance in bundles of 8 or 10 lessons totalling minimum of 42 lessons a year, following Writing Sprouts’ payment schedule and payment mode. We reserve the right not to conduct lesson if payment is not received. ii. Other charges - there may be additional material fee to cover the cost of printed materials and resources that the teacher prepares for the student, and/or the teacher may require student to buy assessment books. If required, material fee will be $12 for a bundle of 8 lessons. Assessment books will be purchased by the parents. Overall printed materials and/or assessment book purchase will be kept at a reasonable cost. 2. Deposit, and notice to terminate lessons A one-time refundable deposit of $300 will be collected by Writing Sprouts. To terminate lessons with the appointed teacher, a minimum of 4-week notice is required. Please notify Writing Sprouts admin of termination intention to complete termination procedure. The full deposit will be refunded to the student or used to offset remaining lessons when sufficient termination notice is given. Upon termination, Writing Sprouts will return any unutilised fee to the student. The full deposit will be forfeited in the event that insufficient notice is given.
3. Public holidays i. By default, there will be no lessons on all gazetted public holidays.
4. Lesson cancellation, leave-taking by either partiesi. If student or teacher is sick/unwell and is unable to attend lesson, please inform the other party by the night before, by 9pm. Make-up lesson is to be arranged based on mutual availability. ii. If lesson cancellation notice is received by the other party only on the day itself, with more than 2 hours notice, 50% of the lesson fee will be charged.If lesson cancellation notice is received by the other party only on the day itself, with less than 2 hours notice, 100% lesson fee will be charged.If the teacher is the initiating party, any cancellation charge will be given to the student in the form of extra lesson time. iii. Taking leave – for personal reasons, e.g. school/ family commitment, overseas vacation: please inform the other party at least 2 weeks in advance (recommended). This can fall under the 10 weeks per year leave allowance. For these mutually agreed leave-taking days, there will be no lesson fees charged.
5. Student and Teacher Welfare, Coaching environment i. Writing Sprouts’ appointed teacher will ensure that standard and reasonable safety precautions are taken when coaching your child. We will not be responsible for any personal injury or liable for any loss or damage to personal belongings or property due to mishaps or any unforeseen circumstance.ii. The teacher should be provided with a safe and conducive environment that she coaches your child in. There should be reasonable space and quiet environment given. v. We reserve the right to terminate lessons at any time for reasons including but not limited to disciplinary reasons, health and safety reasons, overdue fee payment or non-compliance with policies and procedures listed here. 6. Revision/Amendmenti. We reserve the right to change fees upon prior written or verbal notice to the Parent/Guardian.ii. We reserve the right to amend and add to any of the terms from time to time without prior notice.
7. Students’ worki. Writing Sprouts and its affiliated business entities own all copyrights to students’ work completed through our home coaching lessons. We may adapt, publish, digitally archive, distribute, sell, and publicly display or perform a student’s work in any form, media, or technology. Our intent is to use the work for education/promotional/public relations purposes.ii. Writing Sprouts seeks to encourage creativity, confidence, love of the language, self-expression and self-directed learning. Our approach to marking and feedback for an assignment takes into consideration the student’s age and ability, the objectives of the assignment, and the tailored objectives for the student. Therefore, immature handwriting, and writing errors may be present in an assignment, and not everything may not be pointed out and corrected. By attending our lessons, Parent/Guardian grants Writing Sprouts professional autonomy to guide your child according to the beliefs stated above.
8. Audio-visual recordingi. A student may be captured on audio-visual recording while attending home coaching lessons. These audio-visual recordings may be used in any form, media, or technology for our education/promotional/public relations purposes. We reserve the right to use these audio-visual recordings as and when we deem appropriate.ii. In the event that we use your child’s work and/or audio-visual recording, we will conceal pertinent particulars of your child for the purpose of protecting a minor’s identity.
9. Othersi. We reserve the right of final interpretation for the content of this policy.ii. In the event of any disputes, Writing Sprout’s liability will be restricted to the course fee of the unutilised lessons.iii. Writing Sprouts may use your testimonials for Advertising and Marketing purposes.
10. Personal detailsi. Parent/ Guardian is required to notify Writing Sprouts of any changes to their particulars as listed on the Registration Form. All correspondences will be communicated through the contact number and email address given to us. We will not be responsible for undelivered correspondence.ii. Writing Sprouts will not be responsible for any inaccurate or undeclared information given in the registration form given by Parent/Guardian. iii. Any personal contact details that you provide during registration will be stored in our database solely for the purposes of disseminating information pertaining to your child and our business. We do not share your personal information with third parties. We abide by the Personal Data Protection Act (2021).
