Writing Sprouts is a premium English language arts and literary arts enrichment school
that develops the love for reading, writing and speaking to students ages 3+ to 14+
with our holistic and forward-looking programmes.

- writing creatively and critically with different text types

My 8-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son have attended classes at Writing Sprouts for 2 years now. Every lesson is an adventure and a joy. They read voraciously - one on her own, and the other pestering us or listening on his own to audiobooks. They both caught the book bug after attending classes here! - My association with Writing Sprouts came about when my daughter absolutely insisted she wanted to join the class and couldn’t stop raving about it from the grand description from her classmate. This had to be just a passing phase and I decided to hear her and not action for at least 6 months despite repeated nudges. We went for the trial class and she came out more determined. What changed things for me however was the approach to teaching, the conversation with Edna and the classmate’s mum. Based on the class observations, Edna was able to share an impressive action plan to help my daughter through her challenges. This plan continued to evolve every quarter based on her progress. The innovative approach to learning, storytelling, writing and discussions bring a very refreshing approach to the mundane concepts. For us, there has been no turning back ever since. - (continued from previous slide) Her spellings are still a sore point but a marked improvement from where she was. Her story writing is no longer a nightmare but a self initiated enjoyable activity. It was indeed rewarding to see a turn around- from someone who detested writing to actually writing a little story book as a birthday gift! While marks are just one aspect of a child’s performance, the sparkle in her eyes even after nearly a year at Writing Sprouts and growing love for the language are the two biggest achievements that I am eternally grateful to the centre for. - My 8 years old is currently attending the holiday programme and loving it. Based on the worksheets he brings home daily, lessons are taught in a very creative way with introduction of interesting books and poems. He is exposed to many new words and different writing styles.

- Our daughter, Caroline, started reading later than her peers. As a result, her writing skills also developed very slowly. Though she was able to write complete sentences, her composition was awkward, and she was not able to write an essay that has a flowing storyline. We came across Writing Sprouts, and we decided to enrol her in their class. At Writing Sprouts, Caroline has not only improved her writing skills, but her stories are also more creative with strong storylines. She was also able to adopt different writing styles for different stories. The best part is that she thoroughly enjoys the lessons, not to mention picking up a strong interest in reading novels and books.

- I noticed the immediate effect on my daughter's writing style. WY can now pen all her ideas comfortably. She really enjoyed the fun lessons. She giggled and laughed while continuing the composition at home which is a very rare occasion. She's an anti-tuition student but she asked to enroll her for the weekly lessons. - Isaac and Isabel have been going to Writing Sprouts since they started primary school. I was looking for a school which could help to cultivate their love for the language and creative writing, and I am glad I found Writing Sprouts! The teachers there are very kind and they are very creative in using different ways to pique the kids' interest in reading and writing. I also liked that they did not just focus on exam writing, but rather explored story writing in different genres.
